Artist - Michael Jacobs

Recycled wood and tin, rebuilt plastic doll's head,
copper and steel wires in various gauges, screws, nuts
and bolts, pop-rivets, Papier Mache, Molding Paste, Acrylic Paints

This image shows man with his mouth closed and the Great White Shark's head and tail pointing up. When you continuously turn the crank at the lower right, the man uses his arms and hands to raise the shark, his mouth opens hungrily, his legs move up and down and back and forth, and the shark's tail and mouth wriggle up and down furiously.

©2009 MAN EATING SHARK • In this image, I've rotated the crank one full
turn - the man's mouth is now open, and the shark's tail and mouth point down.

©2009 MAN EATING SHARK • I constructed the cap from recycled tin
and aluminum. Eyes are from and old doll's head and I made the teeth from
wire set into 'jaws' constructed from foam board. I created texture with
Golden Molding Paste and then painted the head with acrylic paints.

delicate balance of shark's body on arms.
